The Galery in ARTNET
Born in Madrid 1955. He graduated from the School of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He combined his studies in architecture with his training in arts. During this time he researched for new painting techniques in a self-taught manner. Once he graduated he worked both as an architect and painter, since 2001 he has devoted his time exclusively to painting.
Angel de la Peñas painting obeys to a constructed process, in the pursuit of precision and with outstanding mixed techniques. His work is sober and elegant, seductive and integrating, and it places his creator among the first names within the last generation of painters who have embraced informalism.
His style is composed of a distinguished technique, neatness and mystery. The backgrounds on which both oil and acrylic are mixed, attaining a bed of serenity that gathers a clear image of the depth of his conceptual virtuality.
His painting show a certain pictorial pureness as well as a balance in its shapes and composition. from minimal and essential modulations. The visual intensity of his paintings emerge from a meditated development, which assigns to each element its most adequate position.
