Venus de Milo

Venus de Milo

Perhaps one of the world"s most famous classical statues is the armless
Venus de Milo. Found at Melos in the Cyclades Islands in 1820, the original statue stands 202cm or 6 feet 6 inches tall. Being taller than the average human at the time, we can assume she is a Goddess, though not necessarily which one. In fact, the statue is of Greek origin and not of the Roman counterpart goddess Venus. She could be famous goddess of love, Aphrodite or Amphitrite, the local patron sea goddess.

But here is the difference! We have taken a hand cast model of the Venus de Milo and hand painted them in the style of the most important impressionist of all times. PICASSO-LICHENSTEIN-LEGER-MIRO-MONDRIAN. Every piece is meticulously finished by a School of Modern Art and some of the proceeds go towards promoting the upcoming artists and schools. They are made under licence from the great masters foundations.

Each statue stands at an immpessive163m or 5feet 3 inches without the stand, so it is a very impressive piece. Is it a sculpture or piece of art....maybe both?
